Louisiana Crawdads, or Red Swamp Crayfish, have become a real problem as an invasive pest in northern homes. Brought north as a fish bait or food source, many have been released in the wild. Not being adaptive to northern climate, they have turned to invading homes through sewer plumbing, entering homes through sinks, floor drains and, yes, toilets.

The Red Swamp variety are much more aggressive than their northern cousins. As Schiocton, Wisconsin resident, Bjorn Knudsengadnorgensen, discovered in the worst way during a halftime bathroom visit during a recent Packers game. "I had eaten a healthy serving of Buffalo Wings, yah. And I made a quick trip to the crapper after Rogers threw his second interception before the half. " It was then that tragedy struck. "I just sat down and I felt a grab on my lower nether. Then as I let loose my business, yah. Something grabbed on in the worst way, in the worst place!" I stood up and saw what looked like a half grown lobster hanging on with the meanest look in his eye, yah! I fainted straight away and my sweet wife, Helga, called the ambulance, yah!"

Knudsengadnorgensen was taken to Gworkinsensensen Medical Center. Emergency Room physicians applied several doses of Novocaine to the crayfish in order to induce it to release its hold. Knudsengadnorgensen is expected to make a full recovery. The crayfish, however was used in a Crawfish Etouffee dish and served in the Physicians' Lounge that evening in honor of the 8:00 P.M. game broadcast from New Orleans.
