The City of Olean announced to the public that the plans to construct a large gate at the intersection of King And Seneca Streets has been finalized. Earlier this summer phase 1 of the plan was completed by narrowing the road and installing new curbing. Construction will begin early next week of the 10 foot tall gate designed to keep out non residents. As soon as the gate is complete the area will be renamed King Street Heights. The area will nolonger be part of the city.
Long time resident Dillon Pickwitz explained that the residents are just tired of the way the city is using their tax dollars and so breaking away from the city “just seemed like the right thing to do”
When reporters tried to interview other residents we we turned away, one residents even went as far as telling the reporter to “ get off my lawn!”
