Hambden Orchard Wildlife Area located just off of State route 608 in Hambden Twp. was the scene of a frightening encounter with Big Foot. Harold Yoder of Middlefield, was gathering mushrooms when he heard a loud thump behind him! Harold reported that he looked up, and standing right behind him was a foul smelling, hairy beast about 7 feet tall. Harold quickly backed away, the beast paused, looked him in the eye, then turned and slipped into the forest. Harold was left speechless and terrified. The encounter happened last weekend, Sunday August 26th, Harold has been hesitant in coming forward, but decided to do so today, in case others in the area should see him.
