A Roanoke County man has been arrested for making illegal moonshine in the basement of his home. According to ATF Agents Brian Hazelwood was in possession of a 750 gallon copper pot still and hundreds of gallons of moonshine whiskey. The operation was well set up and hidden in a room with a fake wall to hide the massive still. The agents were tipped off by neighbors that said they could smell the sweet aroma of corn mash . When the agents entered Hazelwoods home they were unable to locate the still until they heard someone singing Man of constant sorrow coming from behind the hidden wall. When the wall was opened Hazelwood was found sitting on several bags of corn and sugar sipping from a mason jar. Agents asked what he had to say for hiself, he replied Moonshine is the water of life and alot of folks are thirsty for the water. He then offered the agents a taste of his finished product but they regretfully declined stating that if they was not working they may have liked to try it.
