In light of recent events surrounding "NIKE" brand products portraying Colin Kapernick as "the face of Nike", President Trump implimented a temporary ban on all products imported from the Chinese based company. President Trump met with advisors early Thursday to review an obscure trade policy that allows the POTUS to temporarily ban products from China and other communist countries. This policy was originally written during the "Cold War" that allows the President to initiate Executive Order 1456, which primarily was used to prevent communist propaganda from being disseminated in the U.S. This policy clearly states that any literature, advertisement, objects or electronic media will be banned from sale, trade, or duplication if it has originated from communist countries and has been deemed detrimental to the safety and security if the citizens of the United States, as well as the US Constitution. Homeland Security is the lead agency responsible for the enforcement and investigation of alleged violations. Violations of this Executive Order will carry anywhere from a $1500 fine to 10 years incarceration, based on the severity of the violation.
