Brunswick City Police Chief Kevin Jones announced this morning that after a lengthy investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobcco and Firearms (ATF) and the Glynn - Brunswick Narcotics Enforcement Team (GBNET); City Investigator Carla Futch has been arrested on a Federal Court Grand Jury indictment charging her with 2 counts of Obstruction of Justice under 18 U.S.C Chapter 73. 1510-Obstruction of a Criminal Investigation and section 1511-Obstruction of State or Local Law Enforcement.
Chief Jones would not elaborate on the charges, only that they arises from Futch’s involvement in a joint ATF/GBNET investigation conducted earlier this year. Futch has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of these court proceeding.
