Teen murdered in drive-by shooting

17 year old victim Juan Mendoza was shot and killed in an apparent drive-by late Tuesday afternoon. The victim was not targeted, but was caught in the crossfire when bullets ricocheted off of other objects and hit Mendoza. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting occurred at a local shells gas station in Ellenton Fl. Suspects are yet to be named. It’s is believed that the shooting was sparked by a gang rivalry. Some say in this case for Mendoza that, “he was in the wrong place at the wrong time”.
