In a surprise move following recommendations from one 8th grade elective class, the Foxborough School Committee has voted to amend the requirements for graduation from the Ahern Middle School.
Effective for the 2018-2019 school year, all 8th graders must successfully complete a standardized test of philosophical knowledge and dispositions.
Student Council President Marco Pacini was in favor of the move. "Of course, this is a wonderful idea," said Pacini. "If all students would stop and THINK about the world from time to time, the world would be a much better place."
Ms. Abrams, Principal of the Ahern Middle School, could not be reached for comment.
