In an Interview with Tajiri Satoshi at a pokemon Headquarter in Tokyo Japan Tajiri himself said that Game freak is considering working on the Diamond and Pearl remakes as the new Switch titles Let's go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee launch next month in november, Not much has been confirmed of what the titles of these games will be and how early it will be out but Nintendo and Game freak plan as early as spring 2019 or early holiday season 2020, but Tajiri did mention that they want to carefully develop these titles so it can capture what made the originals great as well as extra content. More details on the remakes of Diamond and Pearl will be announced very soon so fans should be really excited. Who know's what may come to the games a new mega evolution the return of Z moves who knows?
