Bethany Perkins, 19, has been arrested under the suspicion of thieving cats from Italian families to bring back to the UK.
The Hereford girl was seen at 02:36am this morning in Florence, attempting to get into an Italian families garden to swipe their cat which was sat on their children’s trampoline.
Perkins has stated “I wasn’t trying to steal the cat. I was trying to save it from being taken to the slaughter house. That’s my responsibility as a vegan.”
However, when Perkins rented AirB&B was inspected, 17 cats were found underneath the sofa bed she was sleeping on for the duration of her stay.
The cats have been safely returned to their owners. Perkins has been sentenced to 30 years for extreme veganism.
