Hometown boy William Nylander has been dealt to the Calgary Flames for Sam Bennett, and defenseman TJ Brodie. Sam Bennett was chosen 4th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Sam wears 93 in honour of his childhood hero Doug Gilmour who he coincidentally emulates his play after. Both Sam Bennett and TJ Brodie are from the Toronto region. Nylander is expected to sign a contract with the Flames upon his arrival in Calgary later today. The deal was finalized last evening where William Nylander’s agent Lewis Gross was seen talking to Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas setting the NHL rumour mill abuzz when they was spotted at Madison Square Garden watching the Calgary Flames take on the New York Rangers. William Nylander was born in Calgary while his father, Michael Nylander played five seasons for the Flames.
