One winning ticket was sold for the record Mega Millions jackpot of what turned out to be just under $1.6 billion. The winning ticket was purchased in South Carolina at the KC Mart 7 in Simpsonville, in the northwest part of the state. The lucky winner has not been identified as 43 year old Registered Nurse from Hampton, GA. She recently installed the GA Lottery App and was unsuccessful in purchasing a ticket. Later that night she decided to play the SC Lottery online instead and her purchase was successful.
The six winning numbers were drawn Tuesday night.
