A scientist was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after coming into contact with the rare element Obsidian. Coworkers noted strange behavior from the scientist after he let Obsidian touch his skin. They described the man as "zombie-like," since he reportedly became very agitated, experienced muscle pain, and could not satisfy his hunger. His wife reportedly called the police after he tried to attack her, and upon arrest they noticed a strange psychosis. Hospital personnel says today he is feeling more like himself, but he does not remember the episode.

According to the tribal legends, Obsidian used to be a rare element formed from volcanic eruption that caused people to turn into "Zombies," meaning they could only survive by eating other humans. There was no cited cure, although the tribes at that time believed that the "zombies" were a punishment from God for sins, and they tried to isolate them from the rest of society. Many tribe members believed, however, that Obsidian could be cured by petals from red flowers because there were always a large amount of them blooming after a volcanic eruption. There is no word as to whether scientists are considering these legends as they try to understand the effects of Obsidian.

Owners of the laboratory company refuse to comment on the matter at this time.
