FHS Drops School Phone Policy
By Andrew J. Sullivan

After recent uproars from FHS students about the new phone policy, the school is forced to drop the policy. The policy was created to make students pay more attention in class without the distraction of their phones. The admin at FHS were forced to change the policy after multiple issues occurred. FHS felt the policy was gonna help students stay focused more in class but ended up doing more bad than good. Students felt the school could not be able to take their own personal property and here's FHS senior Andrew Rossi talks about his view, “Its my property… they cant take whats mine.” Rossi says angrily. “I felt like part of my soul was taken from me for no reason” Another issue that occurred was the schools accountability for stolen and broken phones. After a classroom’s phone holder fell to the ground damaging upwards of 7 phones, students and parents were upset with the FHS school denying responsibility for the phones damage. Also parents are concerned with the policy since they can no longer contact their kids incase of an emergency. Here’s FHS mother who chooses to be anonymous says, “I'm scared of the safety of my kid if i'm not able to contact him throughout the day… the policy needs to be corrected now… Franklin High School admin should realize they made a mistake and change it.” Clearly after all the controversy regarding the new policy the FHS admin have finally broke and changed the policy back to normal.
