Epic Games takeover: What you need to know about Jeff Bezos' near-immediate takeover of Epic Games

Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO, is pursuing a deal with current Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney, for a potential takeover of Epic Games, Inc., a deal worth nearly $100bn. The new takeover is bound to have effects on games such as Unreal Tournament and Fortnite:Battle Royale. Here are a few things you need to know about these games:
1) Unreal Tournament is potentially shutting down, or at least halting future updates until further notice.
2) Fortnite's newest 'season', renaming the game to "Fortnite: Chapter 2" has been cancelled until further notice. In the mean time, the only game mode available will be the pay-to-play Save the World mode.
3) Fortnite will have a so-called "Transition Period" where it and other games, such as Realm Royale, will merge and characters from both games can play together on a new "Universal Battlefield" which is a coalition between the maps of Fortnite and Realm Royale.
4) Due to this, Realm Royale will no longer operate.
5) The "Transition Period" will last the duration of approximately half the length of a full 'season', at 5 weeks with updates every Tuesday and Saturday.
6) The new update schedule, as quoted by Jeff Bezos, will "show the players of the recently acquired video game the new schedule will be much more efficient than before".
7) Bezos' plan for Fortnite after the "Transition Period" is unknown. No official information has yet been released on this matter.
8) A shareholder of Amazon has released this statement: "The future of the popular Battle Royale video game, Fortnite, is rather uncertain. This is because Mr. Bezos has not worked this much in the video game industry yet and is unsure whether his plans will take off or not."
9) The rewards for linking your Fortnite account to a Twitch Prime account have been "doubled", meaning that each person will now receive two cosmetic skins and back blings, and two emotes. These packages are scheduled to be dispensed twice during the "Transition Period".
10) There will also be two sets of rewards for linking your account to an Amazon account alone, which shall be dispensed twice across the five-week "Transition Period", with Twitch Prime rewards coming on weeks 1 and 3, and Amazon rewards on weeks 2 and 4.
11) On week 5 of the "Transition Period", any players who played within the first 'season' of the game during the ownership of Epic Games will receive a special, confidential cosmetic item, says a high-ranking official on the Amazon board of executives, with an Epic Games executives backing this up.
