On January 25, 2010, Wheel of Fortune hosted a special episode that saw a grand prize like never before. The three contestants battled it out to reach the bonus round, and have a shot at the grand prize. Dawn Wicker, a physical therapist at Yale New Haven Hospital, from Shelton Connecticut, wrapped up an impressive performance winning roughly $27,000 headed to the bonus round with a shot at the prize. With only one second remaining, Dawn correctly guessed the phrase “miles apart” and was awarded the prize. The grand prize was a child from the local orphanage, Ryan Holmes, who was happily taken into his new home. The family lives a happy, quiet life, with the Wickers adopting two more children (normal adoption) Kyle and Sara.
