Lta announced that the planned Tuas South Extension on the East West Line, is cancelled. However, a new LRT system is being proposed, it is planned to connect with Gul Circle, Tuas South and Jurong East. It will be operated by Tower Transit. It will the third local Singaporean company to operate a railway in Singapore. It is planned to be opened in 2040s with a new sort of Lrt Train. LTA also announced a few other possible extensions like the Punggol West LRT extension and the NSL Joo Koon extension. Also the confirmation of the Central Line.
