A member of An Garda Síochána was seriously assaulted at a fast food restaurant on Saturday evening when they tried to arrest a man that was off his head in a fast food restaurant. The incident occurred at Abrakebabra on Patrick Street when the man who was off his head started to vomit and ran to the toilets but instead pushed in the door to the kitchen with a loud bang. Staff members got a fright from hearing the loud bang and after the man asked where the toilets were. Staff members rang the Gardaí. When they arrived John Waij became extremely aggressive and got extremely violent while resisting arrest which ended up with a Garda that got his face smashed in.
