University of Kentucky changes name of Gatton Student Center to Kroger Student Center

The University of Kentucky announced on March 8th that they would be changing the name of the student center located on north campus to "Kroger Student Center." The university explained the name change was to prevent further confusion about which building someone was talking about when "Gatton" was mentioned, since the college of Business is also named Gatton. This name change was made possible with funding from Kroger. This is not the first time we have seen Kroger take the name of a popular University landmark. Kroger Field is also the name of the football stadium that the University of Kentucky football team plays at.
