Epic Games have recently announced that Fortnite will be shutting down. The hit 2017 game reached 250 players in March of this year and gained its developers over 1.2 billion dollars in 2018. But as the game lost its charm over time,the development team Epic Games has announced that Fortnite will be shutting down on August 20th,2021.
The last update is coming soon - said Epic Games lead developer Tim Sweeney in a recent press release - and after that,the game will stop being updated until it shuts down in 2021.
This is saddening news for many players as thousands have spent hundreds of dollars for "V-Bucks"
The developer said some more information about the last update,which we will include below:
"The last update is the Season 10 Battle Pass. it will have 300 Tiers and 10 new types of Cosmetics. It will last until Fortnite's shutdown. Also,it's free for all players."
The last part is great news for a lot of people. Previously,Fortnite players had to buy the Battle Pas with V-Bucks. This time,that's not the case. But the rest? Saddening news for the players.
