In a highly awaited press release on July 23rd, Wildworks (the Utah-based game studio behind Animal Jam) announced that Animal Jam will be closing in the first quarter of 2020 as a result of "steady declines in player engagement and profits". The studio made no mentions of Animal Jam - Play Wild!, the mobile spin-off of Animal Jam. However, when asked for a comment a representative for Wildworks said that Animal Jam - Play Wild! is "doing great" and that the studio plans to continue to release frequent updates to the game. This story will be updated if any new information is released.
