The boy, later identified as Maj Smith, 13, of Guntown , was swimming west of the designated swim area when he went under, according to police. Nearly 40 minutes after the incident was reported, around 3:45 p.m., first responders recovered Maj from the lake and transported him to a nearby hospital where he died. “I’m still in shock," said Keontravios Bradley, a friend of Maj’s.
